Cebuanos arriving home from their respective Manila vacation trips carry their tales about Manila Ocean Park, the Philippines' first state-of-the-art Oceanarium, open-water-marine habitat, boutique mall, restaurant row and other function facilities all in one complex only. Their stories I find not enough for me to equip my imagination about this oceanarium.
Will someone tell me more about this?

It will be boring for those who are not interested in nature and aquaristic. But when you walk through the aquarium tunnel and can view fishs all around you up to 2 meters length, its an intersting atmosphere.

Or at the 1st floor you can try the fish spa. 100s of fishs will "clean" your feet. Its a tickling feeling ..lol ...

This is exactly what I have in mind. I never thought of staying under water, seeing the big fishes upclose and personal and yet do not get the hard time breating. hihihi...

Manila Ocean Park is a make of Japan's Ocean Expo Park situated in Okinawa. Same features but of course Manila's Ocean Park is a bit smaller compared to Japan's, but still what the hey.. its a good thing right? An underwater view.
Can I ask? Does Manila Ocean Park have a shark? Well I'd see that if there's one! :P

Yup, there are a variety of sharks in there. Personally, I felt like a kid again when I went there. We were able to touch the starfish and had the fish foot spa, too. It would be awesome for kids and nature lovers!

Thanks for this post. Perhaps I wouldn't mind the worst traffic anymore if the reward will be this nice sight. It's worth the sacrifice I hope.

Also here (http://manilaoceanpark.com/locationmap.php) is a map. When you come from South along Roxas Boulevard turn left in front of Luneta Park. After 200 meters you`ll see it and cant miss it.

You can go to Mall of Asia (be ready for super walking) and/or Star City afterwards. Hahaha

It`s 400 PHP for adults and 350 PHP for children.

By the way, you need to shell out extra php 100 for the fish spa experience.
There is also a restaurant named Ozeano within the park. Ozeano offers buffet at P600.00 per head and people usually dine for dinner to watch the magnificent sunset. Note that the restaurant is open to the public, and you don’t need to buy tickets to the park to eat there.

i like this thread, sadly, i haven't been to manila ocean park, and it aint gonna be anytime soon. how ironic, i've seen several man-made, oversized aquariums abroad, but i can't even visit this one right on my doorstep. hopefully next year or the year after next. :) i can only read and be green with envy to all the interesting posts here hehehe :D

When my cousin went to Manila Ocean Park for their field trip, she told me it was fun. By the way, my cousin is 12 years old. For kids, i believe this will be educational in a sense. But for adults who are not really nature-lovers, I do not suggest this place. Rather, you can enjoy face to face experience with the fish. I suggest you go diving so that you will better appreciate their habitat and the species.

The Manila Ocean Park is a marine themed park bringing together in one complex an Oceanarium, a mall, a restaurant row, boutique hotel, open water marine habitats and multi-purpose function facilities. It is great to have a facility like the Manila Ocean Park in the Philippines for the general public for sure.

In November 2008 I visited the recently opened Manila Ocean Park. Located very close to Rizal Park and just off the Roxas Boulevard it is easy to find and quite a pleasant walk from Malate, Manila.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Ocean Park was a big as it was and even more surprised to see that it was less than half open...though I imagine the greater part will be devoted to a shopping complex.
Manila Ocean Park is part of the China Oceanis Philippines Inc and claims to be " the Philippine's first state-of-the-art Oceanarium, open water habitat..."
