these are the nice spots i've heard of about subic:
zoobic safari (for encounter with the tiger),
ocean adventure (for swim with the dolphins)
jest camp (for jungle survival "training"),
and of course, don't forget the slide for life! (PhP300 and so worth it!)

I'm going to Subic for the first time next weekend and I'm pretty psyched about it! Skipping the beach though since I'm pretty sure everyone's going to be there. Instead I'm going to head straight to the Treetop Adventure, and maybe check out the popular food places that I hear so much about, namely Xtremely Xpresso and the jumbo tacos.:D And maybe that steak place. Prolly after the treetop thing though because I don't want the wire carrying me across the forest to snap from all the weight:rolleyes:

Hopefully the weather won't be screwy next weekend. /crosses fingers

Hope you really have a good time then with this Treetop adventure. For a change...from the beach scene as we usually does. Let us see some photos later on this exciting trip.

The last time I was there, my friends and I stayed at Legenda Suites (since it's the only one we knew of, at the time). There were (hmm...) 10 of us and we only paid Php5K for a suite w/ 2 rooms, a kitchen, and living room. That was on a weekday.
Going to the Ocean Adventure (where the dolphins are), its Php450 for the adults, and I think Php100 less for kids. That place is so clean that you'd think that a different bunch of Pinoys maintain it. It's cleaner than Ocean Park here in Manila, believe it or not.
The Extreme Adventure Park is about Php300 which excludes wall climbing. I hope this helps.
One other thing...if you have your own transpo, advice your driver to follow road rules TO THE "T". They're as strict as the US and they can cite violation after violation because they've got radars to measure your speed.

My dad used to say that if I were to drive in Subic, I'd get a hell of violations! hahaha

Very fair rate and to think that there were 10 of you. I will make sure that someone so familiar in going to that place will be with us.

Subic was the former naval base of the United States thus in its heyday it was known as the Subic Naval Base. It's counterpart was Clark Air Base and when the lease of these sites expired during the 90's, the US military vacated and these places were turned over to the Philippine government.

The good thing I remember about Subic was that after the US military pulled out, the Subic government headed by Dick Gordon instilled the value of volunteerism among its citizens that they were able to establish Subic as a very successful freeport with people really abiding its laws!

I remember people dreaded to go to Subic before because there, traffic rules were implemented and violations were executed for real!

I still like Subic because of the duty free shops. Everytime we go there, we still stop by Royal Duty Free or Puregold to get our PX fix. :)

I went to Subic with my family a few weeks ago. It was super fun at a very affordable cost. I wrote about it in my blog. If you'd like to see pictures, I have them there: http://coffeewithkim.wordpress.com/2009/06/08/exploring-subic/
