I know he's from GenSan but moved to Sarangani Province recently because he plans to run for Congress. That's what I heard on the news. :)

Where ever he goes, he still remains "from" GenSan & that's what he represents.

That`s also what I heard .. It was also written in Inquirer (http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/breakingnews/nation/view/20090504-203024/Pacquiao-forms-party-for-local-polls). He already formed a party .. called People`s Champ Movement.

Nevertheless, Pacman is still a Filipino no matter what province he came from. And that we're proud of. :)

So whatever it is, whether he belongs to General Santos City or Saranggani, I hope Manny Pacquiao will contribute also to the development of some tourist sites either in Gen. San or Saranggani. He's got money to do this!

Ye me too, but I think he won't do anything to mess up his homeland. Besides, he's already hella rich, I don't think he'd be a corrupt politician. Plus he's a good person, so, we'll see. :p

Just like filz 33, I still don't want him to be involved with politics. I don't want to belittle him but he can do better in some ways like one for the development of either Gensan or Saranggani's tourist spots.

I think he's running because he wants to better his country. He's already stinking rich! And he might actually do a good job at it...just like boxing...lol

I dont want him to be involved in politics because I don't want him influenced by the greediness and corrupt nature of those in the government. He's loved as he is now: a champion boxer.

Excellent!....I am one who loves him as a champion boxer. If he is filthy rich already, hope he's gonna use his wealth wisely and properly. So, I still stand to my wish and prayers to guide him on what should be done right. Maybe, involve himself with tourism activity. Perhaps if he has property along the beach in Gensan, he can develop this spot that will draw tourists traffic; maybe put a mini boxing gym in that place for children to enjoy, maybe put up a toy factory to create miniature Manny Pacquiao boxing toy stuff, etc....well, just my crazy ideas for him not to run for politics.

That's a brilliant idea tadz. Hehe:D He can still help other people even without entering politics. It's best if he just stay away from it. IMO. ;)

I agree that it would be best for Manny if he would not run for any position. One could serve the people, particularly when someone has the resources, even if he's not a politician.

Yes precisely Kelly. I hope that someone credible comes out of somewhere and will say "Manny...don't waste your time and money in entering politics." Here's one good idea to be helping people in some other ways.....blah,blah,blah! (it will all be about tourism, I hope.

Or he could be involved in a LOT of social work for the benefit of those not stinking rich as he is. I believe he has a good heart that's why he's being rewarded. :)

That's another possible good deed he can do, too. Well, I guess everybody
will remember Gensan as the province of the boxing champion, Manny Pacquiao. His name alone constitutes tourism attraction as he is known
to the whole world as the Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

Yeah. I heard Pacman is planning to have a huge-scale business. He is now soliciting some advice from NEDA about it. I hope his money won't go into another man's pocket. :(

I hope he does not win, their are already alot of useless politician in the congress we dont need another one. if he runs and does not win I think it is a sign that Filipinos are becoming mature in their voting practices cause that is a sign that their not just voting for someone who is famous but for someone who really can do his/her job and that is to serve the people.

A new career for Pacman ?
Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao may have been busy training for his fight against Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto this November, but the Pacman is also gearing up to become an international recording star.
Manny said he has officially sealed the deal and will collaborate with composer Lito Camo and international artists and record producer Isaac Reain.
In an interview, he said: “Recording contract sa US. Kinuha kami. English album. Abangan nila.”
Will this be the start of Manny’s full-fledged crossover to the recording scene? How about his political ambitions? Don’t bite more than you can chew, even if you’re a superstar.
