Sorry for temporarily dissabling the album features. We are working on a more user friendly gallery.

Hi megan21!
The social group function is currently getting worked on by our developers. Sorry, we are trying to make modifications as we grow.

Do you have a plan to enable html, so that i.E. youtube videos can be embedded or is it not wanted due to site security issues ? Thanks and keep up your good job !

Hello
We can add youtube embedding in our next updates but full html is too risky.

Thanks

Youtube video embedding has been enabled. Please include a Youtube reference remark on your posts for copyright protection when using their videos.

To embed a video use the and tags.

Verify the url address of the video of your choice. On this example the url of my video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FsBvXh3m2A (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FsBvXh3m2A)

Then copy the last string of the url. on this example it is 2FsBvXh3m2A
Now you can use the code with the you tube tags.

video code

Make sure there are no extra spaces. Otherwise you will only get a blank window.

The result is an embedded video like this.

2FsBvXh3m2A

Sir pwede request?
Can I request Zamboangas' Vinta in the banner please.
I love your banner but it's just LUZON & VISAYAS :(
I know it's gonna take a while but I hope you'd consider it. Thanks Sir Gabe.

What about inserting photo? There was this attachment feature before and now I can see the "insert image" only. How do we go about this?

Before there were different user titles; now all members have title "visitor". Is this correct or are there more titles/ranks according to the post count ? Thanks.

Thanks for the comments the banner was created not to represent different islands. I believe the Philippine eagle is from Davao's eagle sanctuary. We also have to be cautious not to be posting any pictures from the internet as copyright laws are applied. We will be updating the banner time to time with the availability of pictures.

We are changing the upload feature. We are looking for more of a gallery section for the site where the community has a centralized area to view, upload or leave ratings and comments.

Yes you're right there are different titles as post counts increase.

Hi Gabe, is it just me or have the subforums changed as well? The region categories seem to have gone missing.

Hello Amanda, yes we made some updates again. We combined the different regions into a one stop area.

The regionalized sections worked great but we have some travelers who got confused posting in 3 different areas to get the same information they are looking for.

We do apologize for the confusion.

Really? Odd, I found it easier and tidier - not that I know which region most cities are in (ahahaaa -_-), but it did sort of spread out the threads a bit and gave you more chances to navigate threads from the index page. It's just my opinion but actually having subforums for regions actually makes for better searching, I think. :)

For now our goal is to make it easier for local and foreign tourists who are not familiar with the different regions :)

I like the different islands set up myself so hopefully after sometime we can have volunteers to be travel experts in the community. Maybe then we can bring back the more organized setup.

Speaking of making it easier for tourists to navigate the forum, I'd like to make a suggestion:

Maybe we could come up with a basic format for people recommending a place/service? I find this forum immensely helpful since there's always someone who seems to have an answer to our questions but sometimes the info provided is incomplete. When suggesting/recommending a place/service, we should automatically provide contact details, and if possible, directions, travel time, and a point person from the area. This way, anyone actually interested in what's being recommended can have all the info immediately and the threads won't be clogged with repeated questions.

What do you think? :)

Thanks great Idea, I added your comments in the community tips.
This is a great add on "reminder feature" that we can come up sometime.

Okay folks we have just enabled the Photo albums.
You can view the uploads throught the thumbnails or through the "Travel Photos" link up on the main menu.

Let me know if you need assistance on this. :)
