The town was idyllic and incredibly charming. Our half hour ronda around the island brought us to old Colonial homes, a Thai massage place, an old man selling "tempura" (stretched fish balls) outside a European deli, two small girls playing on the side of the road amidst coconut trees, a very interesting-looking cemetery, a tourist information office, a church, a cluster of islanders perched on their sidecars waiting for passengers, and a woman grilling corn at the market. People we passed waved at us, they seemed to be smiling all the time. They had plenty to smile about.
We stopped at the European deli for a drink and walked over to a souvenir shop. Two foreigners who were chatting outside a Portuguese restaurant greeted us and volunteered that the food there was excellent. We chatted for a bit and when they found out it was our first time on the island, the shorter of the two looked at us seriously and said, "God lives here. I don't know what he does elsewhere, but He lives here." I don't doubt it. :)

My sister went to Bantayan Island to attend for a friends' wedding & this is what her friend told her:
"Salamat niAri jud ka, bisag otso nalang ang pliti, langit na!"
"Thanks you really came, even though it's only an 8Peso fare away from heaven!"

That was years ago when I visited the place with some of my co-hotel workers. The place wasn't that developed yet but I have seen some pictures of the place recently taken by a visiting friend and my goodness, the place is now a paradise. I did remember that it took us three (3) hours to get there from Cebu City by our company van.

I didn't feel I got tired of the three (3) hour-trip because I wasn't driving! Lol!, Just kidding..Actually, I enjoyed watching the scenes that we passed by in going there. Just forgot about time and the next thing I knew, we were already there!

That's true!:) I'm looking forward to go there again and find out if this time I won't get tired of the trip. Well, I believe there are a lot of nice sceneries that we can see along the way so I won't be able to get tired and bored of the trip.
