Chicharon is deep fried pork rind. It can be eaten as a snack, great with beer, or as a topping to several pinoy dishes.

It's a crunchy food that's best dipped in vinegar with a little salt.


My dad had a lot of friends in Bulacan and they say that one of the best places to go to to buy Chicharon would be there.

Have you tried bagnet? It's the Ilokano version of chicharon. It still has the meat...so yummy! Could be eaten with basi (vinegar from Ilocos) or it could also be used as toppings for pinakbet. =)

Bulacan is the Chicharonlandia. I've never seen as much stores selling chicharon as they do. You just got to know where to buy to get the best. One of the best ones would be ML's in Sta. Rita. Be sure to watch your cholesterol! Haha!

If you already enjoy the R. Lapid's chicharon, then better have a taste of the original. Although not as mushrooming (meaning it only has one branch I know) as its relative R. Lapid's, the Lapid's Freshly Popped Chicharon is still the best.

It is definitely crispier, crunchier, and meatier than its chicharon rivals. My family has been a solid patron of it in its Katipunan Branch ever since I can remember.

Try this chicharon. It's definitely worth the trip and the traffic at White Plains, Quezon City.

R. Lapids Chicharon is certainly the tastiest. It's salty to a degree but not too salty. It also leaves a taste in your mouth I can't really describe. I even eat it with rice.

Has anyone heard of Marty's Vegetarian Chicharon? It's a new product of Oishi and it's promising that it gives the chicharon taste without the guilt.

I was looking for it yesterday at Landmark but I couldn't find one but apparently there was because the lady in front of me had one. Yun pala, Landmark ran out of stock already.

So if anyone has tried Marty's vegetarian chicharon out there, feedback please!
