What's new about the Spratley issue? Is it going to be a territory of the Philippines?

I don't know but I think it will take a very long time to own these islands as ours. Imagine our rivals there includes China. Phew!. Why can't they judge the ownership by means of being the closest to Spratley?.. :D:cool:

What's new about the Spratley issue? Is it going to be a territory of the Philippines?Although the Spratley Islands lie within our arhipelagic baslines, countries also claiming ownership don't recognize this right. Both China and Vietnam also rejected our challenge to take the dispute to the World Maritime Tribunal in Hamburg.

I read about this issue & man - this is messed up. All the country claiming the islands have some legit history of ownership. i mean - it's the law - 20miles from the shore is considered part of the territory. So ye, whatever. If I had control of the government, I'd leave it to UN & mind more pressing issues like health care delivery system, quality education & peace & order.

I would not be surprised if China will have it.

Anybody has photos on Spratley Islands? I wanted to see if fighting for it is worth it.

What will be the update to this island today? Does Philippines own this already? or China.

Indeed there are more pressing issues. The reason so many countries are battling for ownership of the spratly islands because these are significantly rich in oil and gas.

Sen. Trillanes already raised that concern that the reason why the Philippines is not fighting hard for it is because PGMA already made a deal with China to provide multi-million projects in exchange for Spratly Islands. One of which is the NBN ZTE deal. It may be speculations but the Senator seemed to be provided with legitimate information about it so that has been his advocacy.
