For those who are not familiar with the sport, white water rafting involves riding on a raft, which can fit several people, while paddling across river rapids. It may sound dangerous but you’ll be donning a helmet and life vest for the duration of the adventure. The sport has already been around for years, but travelers have recently rediscovered this extreme activity. Rafting is an experience that can run the gamut from a calm and peaceful float trip that allows you to fully appreciate the spectacular scenery, to an adrenaline-pumping adventure that delights and excites. Whichever you choose, you are bound to get hooked.
June to early March are perfect for rafting, with July to January being the prime whitewater rafting months. These months have the most rain fall, resulting in higher water levels and therefore more exciting rapids.
